Fernilee Water works Whaley Bridge Derbyshire. I first spotted this place on google earth and thought that looks rather interesting i hope that its a pump house or water works full of amazing stuff that no one has discovered in years..so off i set at to discover what was inside and to be honest i got my hopes up too much as when i got in the place was pretty much empty apart from the labs and a few mixing tanks. not to complain as i did enjoy the explore and I'm not to sure if its been done before. the bonus is its an nice chilled explore in a beautiful setting the history is a little thin on the skin but what i did find out was the reservoir was built in 1938 at a cost of £480,000 pounds and can hold 4940 litres of water . the reservoirs supply water to Whaley Bridge and Stockport. I'm guessing the water works was built at the same time and from what i can guess closed sometime around 1995...
