Had this one to visit for quite a while, then it suddenly appeared in the newspaper last year and named “ the Harry Potter train” . Was going to visit withJake and Dan but they stitched me up and sneaked off to see it themselves the rotters . So the next week me and my trustworthy mates were out and swung by. A little bit of a fight through a few brambles. It’s quite an impressive sight when you see it, but a surreal location basically at the back of an industrial estate. Sort of takes the myth away of it being this magical train in woodland, if you believed that. But definitely worth a look I think. Located near the engine is a few other bits of machinery. Shame we picked a day with harshest winter afternoon sun.
Dan pretty much covered the history thoroughly in his report. A number of these engines appeared in this country to be used for various uses. This one was constructed around the 1950sand when the state railway stopped using steam engines it was transported over here in the eighties.
