Report - Firth Brown Medical Centre, Sheffield - April 2016

This former medical centre would have been used to treat injured workers and although not quite 'underground' it is now buried underneath a car park.

Firth Brown Steels was initially formed in 1902, when Sheffield steelmakers John Brown and Company exchanged shares and came to a working agreement with neighbouring company Thomas Firth & Sons. In 1908 the two companies came together and established the Brown Firth Research Laboratories and it was here, in 1912, under the leadership of Harry Brearley they developed high chrome stainless steel. The companies continued under their own management until they formally merged in 1930 becoming Firth Brown Steels. The company was amalgamated into Sheffield Forgemasters in 1982.

Yeah it's quite small but bigger than I thought it would be.

to be honest mate i thought the same..didnt bother getting the camera out in the end,that could have been the smell of dead thing that put me off though

Sorry @Chloe11111 but it works on trust but you haven't posted anything to the group, as far as we know you could just be a pikey looking to empty places or a council worker looking to brick up the entrance

If you post a couple of reports up then people will be more forthcoming with information

I can tell you it's under a car park As paulpowers said everything is there, it's pretty easy to find. If you go I look forward to seeing your take on the place.

How can I post things without any where to post about? I'm starting a photography course to become a photographer hence why I asked the address, I've got the address now so will post pictures & what I think when I have a spare day to visit
