A chance find on the way to the Magna centre. A large stainless mill, which is owned by Meadow Hall. Now we have all been in places where it looks like the workers just upped and left one day... but not in the 1940's!! The mill's power house is a fantastic huge room decorated with coloured glazed bricks. The offices still have paperwork in them from the 1930's and 40's. There are cricket fixtures pinned on the walls from the 30's, and donkey jackets still hang on the coat hooks. We did not get into the main body of the site... the only real way is right in front of security... I will be back!!
The power house is really special and well worth seeing.
