Report - Fitzwilliam Inn - Barnsley - April 2017

History:
The pub which has been closed for several years was built in 1880. It stopped trading in 2005, was boarded up and left in a poor state of repair and suffering from historic substance damage. Planning permission was submitted to demolish and build 6 houses upon the land which ultimately got refused. The council's planning board felt the development would cause an unacceptable loss of privacy to houses on Coalby Walk because its height, design and orientation.

Yeah its a bit shagged this one, and the stink from rough sleepers rubbish was putrid, but a decent little mooch, the fun part was stood in the dark scratching head trying to find a door to living quarters above, no stairs in sight, looked on an old photo and there was a fire escape going up side of building which must have been only way up from actual pub. Well im sticking to that story anyhow as i checked the whole bottom level 3 times for a way up lol
