This site was set up as a pre-cast concrete factory in the 1960s and then converted to a batching plant in 1989. Since then it has had a patchy existence with a history of failed planning applications and planning enforcement actions. Right now it is abandoned, the most recent activity, demolition stone crushing, having been cleared away.
Among the history is a Rave that happened in 2005 that has left a mark in graffiti.
There are a few interesting walls
But there is not a lot inside after all this time.
Realising there was no future in 1 second exposure hand held I went back to get my tripod. This is the No.1 pump with a very fetching moss growth
Number 2 pump is a bit less verdant
The concrete spray has decorated the handrail nicely
The upper deck has also seen some action
here is a close up of the hopper
Finally there were these two strange ladder things that looked pretty interesting
They may have been something to do with the rave rather than the industrial use of the site unless anyone knows better!
Enjoy!
