I was in the area for a different explore and came across this with a couple mates, so we did we do best explore. Unfortunately the site is going to be redevelopment as recently some planning permission has been granted with a few conditions which is quite sad to see.

Unfortunately the current owners aren't really maintaining the land and have a couple caravans and other random pieces of junk up there.

I couldn't find any history on this site so unfortunately can't say much of it's existence other than it was a munitions depot

Its general location may help to pin it down as it looks like an ROF Consolidation Depot for raw materials or finished goods, or perhaps an RAF Bomb Dump but it does not look like one!

Its Staffordshire, to be honest as there’s not much there no harm I guess.

The council have the address listed as.
“Former Munitions Depot Lawn Lane Coven Staffordshire WV9 5BA”

Given the state of preservation, Its probably the best surviving example of a Heavy Anti aircraft battery in the West Midlands.

Yes, now I have found it, it is indeed a Heavy AA site, but original post showed nothing of the hard standings!

I think this is your report Martyn :cool

There's one of these with magazine huts near WBA ground. Look for Handsworth Gun Placement on Google maps.👍
