Garnetts was a well respected firm of cabinet makers in Warrington. Robert Garnett was born on June 6th in Penketh, Warrington and died on April 9th 1903 at Hall Nook, Penketh. Garnett had been a generous benefactor to many Churches in the surrounding area throughout his life.
The site has been a familiar site in Warrington for generations, with it"s distinction Italian designed Water tower which indeed does state Founded 1824, Built 1906 actually set in stone on the Tower.
Visited with Telf, Will Knot & Urblex. Top lads. The first of 3 locations on a very busy day with unbearable temperatures both inside & out. It was quite funny looking at the state we were in during the explores But not as funny as Telfs recce in front of some store staff having a sly smoke.
There is a shortage of reports on the Works, probably due the the enforcement order Warrington Council made on it"s owners CAPA of Glasgow (now CPS) to Secure the works to prevent access & possible liability under the Public Health Act 1936 ....(Ironic for us )
Obviously this has prevented access but also has extended it"s life somewhat, with that said the Building is due for Demo/ conversion in the near future It"s future is still undecided with the original plans for a car Park being denied.
Access ....all i will say is it reminded me of Tomb Raider 1 on the PS1 very funny indeed, especially my fellow explorers expressions. Inside one third of the Works has wooden flooring which is a Death Trap in no uncertain terms, lots of sections completely rotten or missing while the remaining seems to be mostly made of Jelly Which is a little daunting when you walk backwards to get stuff in shot.
The Basement areas are still bricked up, so we missed out on the Furnace etc & underground War shelters.
Pretty trashed as you would expect, according to reports on the NET mostly from the usual suspects and the so called Wolf Pack.......who obviously were neither good "Graff" artists (Which is an offence to most 6month old kids with a Crayon ) or have an ability to spell
Good time was had by all, apart from me & Will dragging our feet, to the annoyance of Daddy Telf sorry mate it was Wills fault
I"m going to put a separate report up on the Water Tower as i understand it"s not been done for ages......and i"m not surprised.
All pics are "RAW" just mostly added some shadow detail and clicked back some of the severe highlights due to the intense "SUN" which made some shots challenging .....for me,
Top lads & good times
Enjoy.....or not
Sorry it"s pic heavy and that"s after a severe cull.
