I came down to visit my girlfriend and this site was very close, I had to scout it out and there was a notice served for redevelopment on the site so I knew my time was running out... Access was very simple as you will see from the photos and the local kids had been in trashing the place unfortunately. A quick search online states that the school was closed in 2006 and has been badly damaged by fire. Again, my photos do show evidence of arson but in my opinion, its a poetic licence on "badly damaged by fire".
A quick scout of the outside shows the extent of the vandalism
Apologies for the potato, I was using my phone and it was literally pitch black...
Again, too dark for anything decent but you can already start to see the extent of the damage - no partitions to the cubicles and the laburnum bushes had already started to take a hold.
I started to think how much noise these people must have made to create such damage, this place is smack bang in the middle of an residential area
Pretty much every window was broken and glass was all over the floor, made trying to be quiet hard work
Seeing old classrooms made me think back to when I was at first school
As if kids are going to listen to that...
Some plonker left a few of these scattered around... (It's an only fools and horses VHS)
Signs of recreational drug use... Luckily they had long gone.
These walls would once be covered with work
Bit of a deep question for wee kiddies
Little use for this now
The roof of the boiler house, access was impossible without tools so moving on to upstairs
The view back to Dewi Sant Hospital
At times it seemed like the hulk came to let off some steam.
A few of the only residents left
One of the class rooms upstairs, a little bit of furniture left
No more apples for this teacher
Some work was left on the desk in the shot, I took pictures of this but I'm not sure if I am allowed to post personal artifacts. If I am I will add the contents.
Surprisingly this site has little graffiti
A view of the playground, the laughter of children faded away completely
Back down to the other end of the building
Kids get to do the decoration
Down to signs of life, not going down there by myself
Nice mosaic
It's clear the weather is getting in
Thanks for looking, maybe someone else could go back with a decent camera?
