Grand Arcade and The Galleries, Wigan - October 2012
Visited with Millhouse
Both bored one afternoon and in the same area, we decided to have a look around Wigan with the humble objective of doing some rooftopping of the town centre shopping centres. Although not high enough to give you many decent views, the roofspaces themselves were actually quite fun to scramble around.
First up, Grand Arcade opened in 2007...
...then, having dropped Millhouse's film shots in at Max Speilman, we had 40 minutes to go have a look at The Galleries...
A bit of fun more than a serious explore, and we both had a right laugh doing it. Both shopping centres were built beside or expanded upon existing Victorian arcades and buildings, so there was some more-than-welcome variety in traversing the old and the new elements.
