Oldest Print Works in Wales - produced works that helped keep the Welsh language alive when it looked certain to disappear altogether.
Gwasg means Print Works and Gee is the family name of the man who founded the business in the 1830s - Thomas Gee. The site has an enduring place in Welsh cultural and industrial heritage. When it closed in 2001, it was the oldest print works in Wales and one of a very small number of historic works remaining in the UK...The plans for the buildings and contents include a meeting space, a museum area that will allow the public to learn about Gee and the history of printing and workshops for local craftsmen. The machinery will be repaired and opened for public demonstrations. It will be a hub rich in history and will serve a major visitor destination in Denbigh. The repair work will involve offering training opportunities and the redevelopment as a whole will lead to further economic regeneration.
Brilliant place to wander round seeped in so much history..
This incredible lift is still all in tact and used for carrying stuff from one floor to another...
