Hadrian's tower, Newcastle
Hadrian's Tower is a 27 storey tower providing 162 apartments in the heart of Newcastle, construction started in 2018 and was completed in December 2020.
At the time I was working away on the outskirts of Newcastle, every Monday morning I would drive up the A1 and see this sticking out above everything else in the area, I’d like to take a closer look I thought.. Fast-forward a couple of months when I was having a night in York and a friend said do you fancy going to Newcastle. Well I couldn’t say no..
A fun night avoiding camera’s, sensors and climbing over sharp, spiky, spinny, turney things..
But before we start, a shot of the target from another roof.
14mm vs 28mm. Just playing around really.
And then after a bit of a cold rest in a hammock it was time to get up for sunrise.
Just a couple of shots from the roof before making a last minute decision to try and get up the crane. A few sketchily balanced bits of wood and we’re up.
But the moment the sun breaks the horizon and warms your cockles will never get old.
St James' Park.
One last shot before heading down..
And out, which was even more interesting than the way in..
Thank you for reading.
