Cant see that this has been covered before which I cant believe, though it is a bit "public" for most of you its a simply stunning location!
Another one I dropped in with @Down and beyond on our recent visit to some amazing caves, didnt expect much here but it far surpassed our expectations.

First the tunnels. Im struggling to find much info on these there was a pair of short tunnels that were part of the Bristol & district railway.
Though short they were some of my favourite railway tunnels to date.

This tunnel is an amazing mix of brick , stone & cut through natural rock. This was particularly interesting how they had bricked up a natural fault in the rock to prevent fall

Walkiing back along the line its difficult to even tell when you are actually on the viaduct with the tree build up either side.

Ham green viaduct was originally one of 6 timber viaducts built to Brunels design. This viaduct spanned the Windsor hill valley at 65ft The line was opened in 1859 but in 1899 a project began to replace all the viaducts with stone peirs & brick rings. The viaduct has 7 arches to a span of 20 chains

From the top its difficult to get any idea of the height of this structure.

A very good report but I'm confused as The River Plym is a river in Devon. It runs from Dartmoor in the centre of the county southwest to meet the River Meavy, then south towards Plymouth Sound.

Ah the easily spotted but taken for granted locations, seen by the public everyday and not even a thought about them. As urbexers we see them as history, architecture & dig deeper to find the hidden gems around them like the tunnels.

I absolutely love this kind of explore. Those tunnels are great, the mix of natural stone and bricks, the patch work etc, all set in stunning woodlands. very nice

Bristol & district railway? Isn't this the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway?

but you should know if you were in Devon, Somerset or the old S&DJR line to help out your friend who has had a busy day at work
Sorry to disappoint so much mate the sun light was burning my eyes ! I could smell the cold air from the tunnel a few miles away and it took me to it as soon as I saw the darkness I could see again but god knows where I actually was !
