Pictures are from two seperate visits. First with Bubblehead, dhl and God, then a week later with Hidden Shadow.
Thanks to Tassadar and Host for the info.
Hanson's Swillington works doesn't have a particularly long or exciting history, infact all I was able to find on the internet was that bricks were made here and that the factory closed in late 2008 in response to a 40% drop in demand for bricks, at the cost of 45 jobs
It is however bright and colourful with some pretty epic machinery and big pipes.
It's also still a pretty live site, in the week between my visits there was a fair amount of movement inside the buildings, the forklifts had moved, one of the vans had gone and the door to the offices which had been locked now had a metal gate across the other side too. It was possible to see into the offices and the computers were still on, the phones were still working too. It's obvious that even though the kilns are long dead the stocks are still being sold off.
It's probably worth saying that security were fairly active too, and seemed to be hiding in some quite random places..
Did I mention the Pipes?
Thanks for looking
