Hardy and Hansons Brewery Kimberley, the day started off with a visit to mansfield hospital then on to here so it was very successful day with two great explores. the brewery it self is very impressive from the outside. very large indeed. the inside is equally as impressive but a lot has been stripped out but still a lot of fantastic features to be had with lot of going back and forth to make sure we covered as much as possible, the only parts we were unable to visit were the offices..next time. Brewing in Kimberley date's back to the 1830's Samual Robinson used water from the alley spring to brew beer commercially, 1847 Stephen Hanson opened a brewery and used the same spring, Heanor Handy built the existing brewery in 1861. at this time both breweries were rivals until in the early 20th century they began to run out of water and in 1930 merger to form Hardy and Hansons , 2006 the brewery was acquired by Greene King and closed the brewery ending over 130 years of brewing.
