Harleston Supplies
Harleston Supplies Northampton depot was originally founded as "wooden supplies ltd" over 3 decades ago, their sales blurb went as follows
"Situated in the beautiful Harlestone Firs woodland, Northamptonshire, we have an enviable reputation for good stock levels and an efficient delivery service. Wooden Supplies have come a long way, starting life as a working sawmill inclusive of a Creosote plant which is no longer in use. Creosote is a natural product, obtained by distillation of coal tar. Timber treated with Creosote is known to la st for over 30 years without significant signs of decay, so for this reason it is favoured by the professional fencer. We were decommissioned as a sawmill and continued as a timber yard supplying local retail, trade and agricultural customers with external timbers, ideal for all aspects of landscaping and fencing and were acquired by The Wilde Group in 2005.
Late 2002 the decision was made to liquidate the Northampton depot.
This place is fkd to be honest & hardly worth reporting but its a local one for me & still had a few interesting bits to see, Id completely forgot about this place until @The Young One reminded me so thanks for that.
Strangely I dont think its been reported before.
visited one evening with @cppic_s, its a unbelievably easy explore hence the state of it.
Moving in to the offices there are a few interesting bits remaining
Finally the mezz level in the workshop was most interesting (for me at least) showing the latter conversion to metal products, there was a fair amount of unused wrought iron products (I could probably direct you the the F H Brundles part number for most of these lol) and various chain blocks etc.
Thats it from here but if you are interested there are plenty more pics here. Harlestone Supplies
