Another visit to Cwmystwyth, this time to visit Herberts adit.
History
Circa 1670 Herberts adit was driven northwest to intersect the Kingside Lode
Circa 1825. Aldersons adit was driven beneath Herberts to drain the old stopes and to open up more ground allegedly circa 1870. John Taylor and son had an incline constructed to assist with exploratory work in the two adits mentioned.
1 Just inside the entrance

3 Heberts Stope, Here the stope goes up to the surface. Although the photo doesnt show it very well there is a large volume of water coming down the stope!

5 Looking up
6 Heavy timber
7 Under the waterfall, This was as far as I could go, not sure if the passage continued on but didnt fancy getting soaked!
