After seeing Kevsy's report on this place I decided to take a look since I was in the area. Unfortunately it happened to be absolutely pouring down with rain which was coming in through the roof and was a shame to see all of the stuff there just left to rot through water damage.
Not much in the way of history to be found... even a couple of locals we spoke to didnt seem to have heard of the place, however i did discover that it was founded by James holding in 1842 who passed the running and management down to his sons and eventually his grandsons. The pottery closed in the 1980's.
I just wish it had been dry, as I would have spent more time wandering about... lovely little place with plenty of things still left to see
