Opened 1960 Closed 1991
Post is in pretty good condition, much of the compound fencing remains along with the Orlit, this was a master post.
The FSM pipe is serverly rusted at ground level, stangely the BPI pipe is not in the usual location.
The hatch has been welded closed to prevent youths from entering as the previous padlocks had been cut off.
I have spoken with the owner who has given me permission to enter the post as long I re-weld the hatch closed. I have access to a welder through my work but I am struggling to find a generator powerfull enough to run it
Still eager to get inside to look as no one has had access before, and would like to see where the BPI enters post. I did think about FSM cam but it has the updated cap on top which is fixed from the monitoring room.
Any how on how on to the pictures (only had mobile phone)
The compound
The welded hatch
Note the unusual BPI location
Orlit A in good condition
