Ok., The Climatic Labs were awesome, minimum struggle for maximum interest.. time for the main site!
Gaining entrance to the main site took a little more effort than outwitting a Palisades fence; surrounded in shrubbery the perimeter looks impenetrable, only a chain link fence stood in our way immediately but the dense Roderdenrons behind it completely masked any viable access routes, the next half hour plus was a lesson in jungle orienteering,.. which without maps and a compass proved to be a test of patience if nothing else! we live and learn!
When we'd finally punched our way through the undergrowth we had landed in a huge clearing, which was clearly the footprint to a massive building. The excitement was growing and we'd only travelled about 10meters from the fence! (in a round about way)
From there we started to see signs of paths, we picked one and set off.. Random light fixtures and posts scatter the site, the posts were not normal fence posts they had large brakets fixed to them, which we assumed had once held pipework for gas/water servicing the site.
...The first structure we came across was the Boiler House,
Graffiti in the Night
No boiler unfortunately but the pipes and fittings are still hanging about.
Since the removal of the boiler, the building had evolved an alternative source of energy..
