History
In 1950 construction began on Huncoat power station on behalf of the newly nationalised electricity board ,by 1956 the construction had been completed and opened with much fanfare by the local mayor. in 1984 like many other industrial sites in the north it was killed off by the thatcher government of the time who were hell bent on destroying the heavy industries of the UK .
plans for a waste disposal facility for the old site have never come to fruition due to local protests by the council and now serves as a graffiti training camp and post apocalyptic photographic backdrop.
The Explore
The explore was on a whim as originally went to visit somewhere in Blackburn and failed so had a look on the trusty locations map and bang we decided on this. Having heard about it on the grapevine it wasn't a shock to see just a shell of a building with very little of it's history left. However what was just a concrete shell has now been turned into a graffiti paradise. Very interesting & well worth a visit if your in the area or have very little to do, the drive was alright as well.

Found some hint of what it used to be at least..
