No better way to start the new year with a mine I guess 😆 but yeah onto the nerdy bit. Ok so this is Hutton ironstone mine above Hutton village obviously 🤦♂️. The mine had 3 initial drifts above hels gill fitting name but yeah you get into this mine through a collapse 😅 the mine was mined from 1854 to 1867 so it’s a very old one I am unaware of any surface features anywhere such as a fan house or any other bits and bobs. The mine connected up with Hutton lowcross with a few other mines being Ayton mine,roseberry mine,Belmont mine,spa wood mine and so on so it went pretty far back in the day but there is barely anything to see here in this one due to collapses and goafs but yeah still worth a look so onto pics . !
