The was a great little oppertunist find, i thought id tracked down all Londons disused pools but this one must have slipped through the net. From the front it is awfully 1970s but when you look around the back you realise its attualy a nice victorian building with a vile new frontage. Inside you have the typical large and small pools but also a big (and well equipped) gym area and dance studio. The pikeys had been in but the place isnt too trashed... yet.
The best bit?? this isnt just a pool but a cinema pool! fuck knows why but it has a projector room at one end of the main pool, presumably to project stuff on the far wall!? Never seen that before.
From what i can work out the pool was closed down unexpectedly in September 2008 because of safety concerns over the building's structure but was due to be closed 3 months later anyway as a replacment was due to be built. Cant really find much more history than that!
