Inverkip, the final farewell & Chimney Climb
(Visited with the Usual Suspects)
774ft/236m of WIN
Time is running out sadly for this place, having spent nearly 2 days here last year with Forsaken & Horus we covered the entirety of the plant HERE...
Except the chimney eluded us, and no visit is complete without a trip up that monster
I don't mind saying that I was a tad pissed off, but at the time I had neither the motivation nor the energy to mooch about any further, I always new I would one day be back
The time had come, having heard rumours of demolition teams moving in (yes it's true) and seeing some excellent reports from the likes of NickUk, Tweek, Fishbrain, Hiddenshadow and the like I decided this needed to be a priority
Cue the usual suspects, a trip to the stimulating drinks aisle and we were off
It was kinda strange being back inside the old girl, even stranger with all the lights on
A quick whistle stop tour, we checked out the now heavily stripped turbine hall then on for one last look at the CCR
Brings a real tear to my eye seeing the state of the place, oh well bigup Margaret Thatcher for sticking two fingers up at Arthur Scargill
Serious respect to anyone who has been up here lately, the route isn't all that difficult, more death on a stick - one wrong move and it's GAME OVER
I have no idea how many steps 774ft equates to, all I know is it's tiring, relentless but once at the top well worth all the fuss!!
All about the red light...
Don't look down..
..Oh wait
Upskirt
Viewtastic
Seemed like a good idea at the time
Who's this bunch of Nimrods
So tempted to go back with 300m of static, anyone game :bananapopcorn
