This place only closed down for business 3 weeks ago, but being the eager beaver that I am, i had to see it!
I have done a report previously on the old art deco restaurant which is attached to Jumpin Jaks and I fell in love with it then...
Some may know that I am a big fan of art deco and this building is full of little touches. It was the old Capital Theatre until 1998 and in 2003 permission was granted to make it into two nightclubs.
Sadly for the last few years, the owners have just let it go to pot.
There are leaks everywhere, the floors are rotton and paintwork peeling. I believe this was even the case when the nightclub was open.
It makes me sad to see this happen to such a beautiful building =[
Anyway, Vladimir and I visited last night, no tripod or torch, just flash photos. Found a rusty old ladder, possibly leading up to the roof but both too scared to look further :crazy
Not sure what the plans are for it now, I just hope someone rescues it =]
