The History:
Vockerode/Elbe Power Plant was a lignite and later a gas-fired power plant in Vockerode, East Germany. It was built in 1937 and shut-down between 1994 and 1998.
After being the site of a power plant for almost 60 years, in 2001 its four chimneys were demolished although much of the original building still exists today. Around 2013 it was used for events and art displays, but now it stands abandoned.
The Explore:
Knowing there was security that patrolled the outside, we found a discreet way around the fence and quickly spotted someone. Waiting for them to be out of sight we headed for the building and luckily walked directly to the way in. Once inside, my main goal was to find the control room. Knowing it was mostly intact, I overlooked some areas and likely missed some good artifacts, but time and daylight was limited.
👀
Success!
Thanks for taking a look.
