Settled on the busy Granby Street close to the centre of Leicester is this little gem. Despite millions being spent on making Granby Street better looking, a number of businesses still closed.
La Tasca, as a national business, hit trouble in 2011. Even though the Laurel Pub Company bought La Tasca as a company for £123m,there were still closures. Leicester’s one of the first. Reading through the ratings and reviews on Trip Advisor, it was pretty crap. One review was titled “Sickness bug following meal†another “NEVER AGAINâ€. The Leicester branch closed in late 2012/early 2013 and since La Tasca has recovered. Originally the building was a bank and there's some heavy duty safes in the cellar.
The explore was well worth the risks. We stupidly thought Saturday night was a good time to explore in the centre of Leicester. After being harassed by drunk locals for an hour, we had an opportunity and took it. It’s awesome inside, still looks new and I’m glad we took the risk.
