Walked past this site for years but now armed with my new tesco 3 watt 2xC torch 
it was ready time to check it out
History bit first
This lovely ol' church was built in 1859 and designed by Archibald Scott. I believe it saw use until 1980 when the City of Edinburgh council purchased it and sold it to the Arab Social League of Edinburgh in 1982. They had plans to turn it into a social center, but a lack of money means that it never materialized. It has lain derelict since then.
I would recommend bringing along a mask if anyone is planning a visit. The church is now home to bazillions of pigeons and there is an ASTONISHING amount of pigeon crap allllllllllll over the place. Along with bits of dead pigeon and various other unsavory things.

I seem to keep finding prams
apparently there was some fire damage about 7 years ago
entering the main hall had some nice John Woo esque moments with flocks of pigeons
remains of the pulpit, along with more pigeon crap
The upper gallerys were pretty solid
and last but not least the death mayo
