Lea Castle Hospital near Kidderminster is an NHS care centre for people with learning difficulties. Some are full time residents while others are just day patients. It was built in the 60s but since then it's been downsized and many of the older buildings have been abandoned and replaced with newer ones on the same site.
In addition it borders onto the old Hereford & Worcestershire college of Nursing and Midwifery which was absorbed into Worcester university in the mid 90s.
Unusually for an NHS site in the midlands , it's all been very well secured with all the ground floor windows being very firmly boarded up and almost no chav-damage , and while I didn't check every single building in detail it looks like there's no internal access without a crowbar or some long ladders.
I wasn't sure whether to bother with a report as I didn't get in anywhere but thought I may as well as it's been mentioned on here a couple of times recently and it could save someone a trip.
Being spread out over such a large site there are places where it actually feels quite creepy like an abandoned town , then you walk a bit further up the road and you can see people a few hundred metres away by the live sections.
The centre of the site.
Laundry Block
This was a bit of a mystery
One of the former residential bulidings at the north of the site
Workshop - even this was secure.
College of Nursing & Midwifery
It was a bit of shame there was no access , as it looked like quite a promising site.
