Putting a report on here about Levenseat put me in the mood to revisit the site. This time it was dry and I entered by an adit further uphill from the entrance I went into last time.
The mine branched north/south as soon as I got into it, so I headed further south this time.
This area of the mine had a lot more evidence of the men who had worked here (and women?) in the form of pit props, walled sections and bits of track.
This section of the mine also had large areas of stalactites remaining as well as some interesting sections of rock and evidence of rock falls.
On the way back from the mine I came across a shaft dropping down into the top of the area of the mines. I will need to come back with ropes and have another look.
