I know it's been done but thought I'd stick my photo's up anyway.

Don't know why I have only just discovered this place, wish I'd of got in years ago but ah well still a great explore.

Another 2am explore with a non member (think I need to work till midnight more often, it gets me out!)
anyways, rambo entrance, kept the head torches off apart from the pics, was fun finding our way around, first thing was the roof! as always.

History - copied from another thread.

Bowman Thompson & Company originally owned the site but was sold in 1900 to Brunner Mond whom with a seven year closure reconstructed the site producing sixty tonnes of soda ash a day. This figure rose to 800 tonnes a day in 1926 with all of the Brunner Mond assets being turned over to ICI.
Lostock a coal fired powerstation was decommissioned in 2000 when E.ON built there new Combined Heat & Power plant at Winnington, Lostock is due to be flattened for a new Sustainable Energy Plant to be built on the site.

Nicely done mate :thumb

Nice to see a night-time take on it. Well done on surviving as it"s not the safest of places, even in daylight

Cheers fella and yeah, we did find a few dodgy bits of flooring. It was pretty cool being so dark though tbh, we could see relatively ok once our eyes had adjusted and just kept hold of the railings. bloody dusty though which we couldn't see until the cameras were out.

Well done for getting on the roof!! Think I have a rough idea how you got there but I wasn't feeling brave enough that day haha

The noises in that building are something I wont forget lol :)

Cheers chaps.

The roof was pretty easy to get to tbh, just went up some stairs then held onto a handrail and kept moving up until we could see moonlight through a hole in the roof.

Its the belt that comes off down past the other building i wish id of had a proper look at. Or the high point at the front i completely missed :-(

It's the high point at the front you need to avoid . that's the death trap bit with the completely rotted floor mesh and bits of machinery falling through it .You need to be about 6 stone I'd reckon to do it safe.

My mate was 2 floors below me and bits of debrise was falling down onto him below so he bailed :)

Don't walk along that floor with the scaffolding barriers and signs saying unsafe floor on it ......its unsafe . I fell through it which scared me but really shit 2 lads that were on the floor below thinking their time was up lol

There's 2 routes up one fup some steps by scaffolding barrier onto rof then secure ladders overlooking the gatehouse or far end where the coal crushers/hoppers are go up the mesh staircase to the top for a more relaxed view.

Not my favourite surface in the dark I have to say I felt like I was walking on one of those 3D puzzles ☺

Worked in the active solvay Lostock a great number of times over the past few years. Always wanted to check this place out as I'd see it all day! Good to see it from the inside.
