I had intended to pay a visit to a terminally ill fire station this eve', but the damn smashy-breaky machines were still hard at it until nightfall. So, a little roaming and I found access to (dah-dah-dah!) Machinagraph :
Pretty empty to be fair, but not a bad explore with a couple of machines still in situ and a room packed full of lovely knick-knacks.
I have to admit to weeing my pants a little in here when a door slammed shut with gusto behind me and I dropped my camera in the dark. Pah, I blame Ghostbusters for ruining my 'dark spaces tolerance'.
A ickle history:
Machinagraph was a manufacturer of nameplates, plaques and labels and also dabbled in chemical etching pretreatment services, aluminum, brass, bronze and copper chemical etching.
The company is still alive-a-live-o (somewhere less pretty in the city) and this particular, rather lovely, read-brick built site closed in goodness-knows-when (internet fail)...but I'd estimate maybe 10 years (?) or so since.
Anyhoo, nuff rammle. Here are some more of my questionable photos. I blame the door slamming incident for any blur.
Externals:
Apparently, it would be bad to drink this:
Ooopstairs:
I thought this read "Anti Sleeze". Disappointed:
Hooray for 'things':
Hmmm:
Loadsa left over saw bits in here. No frisby please.
:
Dust, anybody... dust?
Suprises in the knick-knack room:
Want so much I actually salivated on it:
Would have taken weeks, and left, to rot
Sinkage:
Ovenage:
Stripped bare ground floor:
Tidy please!:
What would you do??
The Board Room has seen better days:
Digging this wallpaper though:
And, some silliness:
I should add that the last shot cost me a bizarre bus ride home with small children staring. Always check for black rings after playing-dress up with filthy googles
