Decided it was the perfect time to pop up and nail this one. All went well accessing the downcast again and moving on to the upcast really was something special. A quick stop by the powerhouse proved fruitful too!

Down Cast Headstock and Winder
Power was now turned off and the head stock was in total darkness. Asbestos guys were in the winder but despite that it was still good to see. Security had us pinned down for 30mins or so while they did their rounds bt otherwise not too hard with all the demo guys on holiday. Throwing stuff down 'the hole' wins every time!
Aerial Walkway
We had hoped this would sneak us into the very live looking bath house but we found that end of the walkway was well gated and decided to do other stuff before pushing our luck bypassing it. Didn't have time to go back in the end so it will have to wait..
Power House
Almost didn't go for this after it looked oh so manned. The workshops next door had the previous days newspaper open on the desk so definitely a holiday only one. The compressor in here was stunning, the only original building on site by the look of it..
Upcast Headstock and Winder
I dont know why but i wasn't expecting this to be that good but fuck me it was an experience. The air drift was still running at full blast, presumably something to do with the methane plant next door?? It gave the whole building a great noisy/windy atmosphere. Its also huge.. by far the biggest ive ever seen. World class!
