Marvels Amusement Park is located on top of a hill in Scarborough's North Bay. It was serviced by 2 chair lifts, one from the North and one from the South.
At one point it had Yorkshire's largest rollercoaster which has now been relocated to Knowsley Safari Park.
Due to the increase in foreign holidays, the park was forced to close it's doors in 2000.
The site is mainly derelict apart from the remains of the chair lifts and their workings. Thought we would share a couple of photo's despite this.
New plans that have been submitted which will see the old and much loved Mr Marvels site become a holiday village.
The lift heading up the north side of the hill to the site
Once you reach the top.. this is what's left of the whole amusement park, The lift base station and machinery.
The view from the South entrance side of the chair lifts
I also found this poster which shows how the park might have looked in it's heyday.
