Report - Meanwood Park Hospital, Leeds - October 2018

Meanwood park was rented In 1919 by Leeds Corporation to provide a mental difficancy colony for the mentaly handicapped. Whicj was dormaly opened in 1920. The first patient aged ten was to be here for over 60 years when he finally passed away in 1979.

The colony took idiots, imbeciles and feeble-minded people including epileptics (sic) of both sexes. In 1931 there were 67 men and 117 women. 48 of the male cases were under 15 years of age and 19 over fifteen years of age of the employable class.

I'd seen seen this on a photography group on Facebook with all the info so. Did a million others. There's not much to see apart form the staircase and a couple of rooms upstairs.

First time I went a handful was going in as we left. 2nd time the was a couple.. It's been a very busy place.

Why don’t you stick a report up

It's coming, I have many to do from the past two months for my standards, nothing compared to say Brewtal. But I spend time making the video to go along with the report, therefore it just depends when I catch up.
