I dont know how Im only just getting a report of this place to be honest, This was my first drain explore ever and I was solo (I was only 14 aswell )
I had been to take photos, but never got to the end due to something happening (like bumping into the tours)
This report compiles of 2 seperate explores of the place, you will notice when the colour and lens changes
Now, 2 years later, I finally decide to get up off my arse and get some photos in here...
Getting to the drop-in point for about 12:30, we kitted up and headed into the culvert
The water level was relatively low, making things super easy
Into our first little culvert, I believe this is a very old bridge connected to a more recent brick culvert? Never seen infrastructure like it!
We come out next to the Radio Sheffield car park, and under a low section of culvert that goes under Sheffield Archives!
From here its back breaking all the way until we get to the outfall... oh well, on we go!
Looking back
Round the bend
Abit deep!
A little tumble
Under a very low bridge
Looking back (Photo from April 2022)
And out!
Exploring with Trolleyz lol
Onwards towards the train station and under the Transport police station and Pickup and Drop-off point at Sheffield Station
In we go, clock the hole in the wall on the left...
Upon shining a torch in, we found this
Anyone have any idea WTF this is? Its very old, and there are ladders going down to it, however I suspect the manhole is in the road where the Pick-up and Drop-Off point is, so if anyone has any idea let me know via PM or comment!
We then meet up with the river sheaf (Looking back towards the porter)
Hello Sheafy
Up we go
Concrete spraycrete mixed with weird concrete arched slabs, interesting
3 concrete arches join to 2 arches
Looking back then up one of the 2 brick tunnels
Off we go towards the Sheaf infall
And yes we gave the penstock a tug too heavy need more people
Two culverts join to make one
The brick infront indicates where the Main Road is.
The further you go forward the deeper it got, so we turned back
Back down we go where the sheaf meets porter
Down the left side we go!
Quite a loud flow
Looking up the middle
