Greetings fellow explorers!
My faithful companion and I decided to take a look at this place recently, not without its risks as three chaps got arrested not too long ago for doing exactly that thanks to the vigilance of a local gamekeeper... The site is quite extensive and in a fairly poor state having been visited by the scrap metal jackals and what appers to have been quite a few people intent on having a good party despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that the place is well and truly closed.
I have been able to find surprisingly little about the history of this place which was once a poular country pub, hotel, function venue and was licensed to hold weddings. It has closed and reopened a number of times under different management over the past 40 years and shut its doors for the final time near the end of 2010. I did manage to find an image of the establishment which looks as though it may date from c.1900 (included).
I have more pictuers than those posted if anyone is interested.
Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for looking.
