Some History

Founded in 1873 as Moreton-In-Marsh Cottage Hospital. Extensions were built in 1935.

The hospital became part of the NHS in 1948 under Banbury and District Hospital Management Committee. Subsequently responsibility passed to Cheltenham District Health Authority in 1974, Cheltenham and District Health Authority in 1982, East Gloucestershire NHS Trust in 1991 and Cotswold and Vale Primary Care Trust in 2002. It is now run by Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust.


The Explore

I've got/had an absolute free weekend, so seems as it's been a while I thought I'd go exploring....First went to Great Tew House, found it but the grass cutter politely informed it was private property! Had this one starred on Google Maps so thought I'd carry in to it and see.

Pretty boring inside, not as much equipment as in a report from Jan 2015 by huey, one of the rooms smelt like fresh paint, and that's about it really!

Haha of course, um no all was quiet. Entry point looked like it had been prepared previously..

Mate I went here today and it's so different. Report will be up some time next week but it's crazy what's changed. I know this is an old post, but your second picture shows a hall type thing. It's now totally pitch dark, windows are smashed, some graffiti is on the walls. Pretty bad seeing as it's tucked away in a small town.

Went and did a mini reccie today but couldn't do too much as had my kids with me! Any alarms present to be aware of?

Not that I know of. I didn't get far in because I heard bangs etc. I'm going back after holiday and I'll let you know how it goes

If you go before I do then please let me know if you come into any trouble with alarms/secca etc. Be careful of workmen by the way because I've seen a van on the driveway of the hospital. Cheers
