History
Good old mcra never let you down for info. Here’s what I took from their website,
The Mount Pleasant surface quarry extended underground to work an area of approxumately one hectare. This dormant Bath Stone quarry was last worked before 1914 and the surface quarry was backfilled in the 1980s to form playing fields. However, the underground workings were connected to Grey Gables Mine in 2006 by Edmund Nuttall Limited for bat conservation by a cut and cover tunnel.

Visited with @richiemelon. After a failed visit to box ( now sealed tighter than a nuns fanny) we decided to go look to see if this was doable, we walked through the yard straight to the entrance to see the door was open so we just walked straight in! This is a lovely little mine to walk around, the stabilisation work that’s been done is immense and when researching this mine I learned that it cost 154 million to do! Unfortunately I didn’t any pictures of the shaft as someone took a banging shit there and it put me off going anywhere near it lol apart from that the rest of the mine is clean and free from graffiti. Glad to get this one under the belt! Photos done with iPhone as usual
