I thought I'd upload a report on a place I hold dear, as it was one of my first 'real' solo explores that has recently been knocked down.
History:
Mountain Ash Cottage Hospital was first established in 1910, and later become the General Hospital for the area in 1928. It closed in 2012.
Visit:
I've been here a few times over the last couple of years, and each visit marked stark contrast to the last. Relative easy access meant that youths and vandals had free reign here, speeding up its decline. However, I loved this place. The peeling paint revealing layers of colour adding to the look of this place. There was always something new to see with every visit, with a very eerie feeling at times.
Highlights:
The lift pulley system, long corridors, colours and fear factor.
