Located opposite the Muckamore Abbey Hospital in Antrim, Northern Ireland is this little mortuary. I can find very little information anywhere online except that this mortuary was used for embalming the deceased that came from the hospital. There were no fridges anywhere in the building so it's likely bodies were in and out within 24 hours as with most embalming sites. The small building contains this lovely and rather rare rotating porcelain table in the post mortem room and a small chapel of rest in the room beside. There was some very nice peeling paint in the storage rooms beside and the ivy creeping through the windows was a nice touch. I've visited this morgue several times and am saddened to see the huge frosted glass window in the PM room has been boarded after getting smashed at some stage. However, it's still in very good condition and vandalism is minimal with no graffiti anywhere. Enjoy the photos!
