Hello people, I am early 20s and based in Cumbria. Im called Jack. I have little experience with this type of thing however I have been wanting to get into this community for quite some time. I am very interested in underground locations and anywhere remotely spooky - hospitals & asylums.
I've recently visited the Conniston copper mines and it has left me craving more. In the UK I haven't really found many places and don't have a huge array of knowledge on anywhere, especially in the North - however I'm happy to drive hours if the location is worth it, even for the experience.
I have explored Pelican Island in Colombia, which required hiring out a boat which eventually led us to being escorted off by the owners xd. The boat owner who gave use of the boat told us it was a hotel/casino/discotheque that used to be primarily used by emerald dealers, smugglers, high stake gamblers and supposedly oligarchs, on top of the island was a small church with some strange restraint type blocks outside it. He told us the Island fell out of private ownership in the 70s~ and since then is closed to the public. We had a good 2 hours exploring every nook and cranny before some masked individuals arrived on a boat and made us leave.
Alongside this we heard rumours of "Pablo Escobars 2nd mansion" hidden on a island off of the coast of Cartagena. We took a 2hour boat and hired some kayaks and went around the island until we discovered it - as we heard it was along the coast. Huge mansion with a pool however we had maybe 1 hour before the boat that took us left and it took us about an hour to kayak there so we had.a very brief amount of time. Most notably there was only 1 locked door upstairs on the top floor however through the gaps we could see lots of kids shoes. By the time we started to leave a man stood in one of the doorways and watched us.
In Lisbon too I have walked around some old abandoned towns and found some interesting factories and even an art squat. There is a small weather bunker near where we live too however it is rather miniscule and not really worth a huge ordeal, it is still fascinating though.
I am looking to meet like-minded individuals from somewhat nearby places, but as I said I am happy to drive out. I simply want to get my foot into the door of this community.
Below are some photos of these places and I will write some full detailed reports on the international forum too. The first 7 are Pelican Island and the last 3 are from the mansion.
