Report - North Wales Hospital, Denbigh - May 2019

This is my 1st post but not my 1st explore.

I visited Denbeigh asylum today! 10-05-19
It was a wet wet day to say the least.

Gaining access was very easy as there is new metal gating and security boxes on site.
I did not see on other person there.

The buildings are beautiful it’s just a shame the damage there is.

I only stayed for about a hour as I was soak wet threw and had all ready been exploring other places before here.

I did only have my phone so the pics I have taken are from my iPhone.

There is little glass left in the windows mostly have been smashed by youths.

Yeah they will just build some quick put up houses on it such a shame. You can't beat the architecture. Nothing put up nowadays comes anywhere near

Around half of it is listed so won't be demolished. That's why the interiors were totally ripped out of the front buildings a few years back and the roof replaced, to stop further degradation.

Wonderful work, sad end to a beautiful set of buildings

I love Denbigh, the frontage and design are so beautiful. As Mooster says, some parts are listed and so they should be. Stone house near me had listed bits. And the refurb isn't bad tbh. The old tower, I used to work beside has been restored beautifully. I hope they do a good job here too.

On another note, good first report, fab pics. Just curious why the change from full frame pics? Still enjoyed the report though.
