Northfields
New site I drove passed recently, didn't expect to get in but after a lot of effort I managed to get myself in. Not ever been in the area before so wasn't sure what was about. Interesting dated architecture with a lot of modernization in some places. odd blue ceiling? I like how the windows reflect off it though. Slightly stripped/ part through so I assume it won't be around for too much longer. Enjoy.
History
Northfields leisure centre was a joint gym and swimming pool that created a social hub for the area. It closed in July 2016 due to a customer defecating in the water, It was then discovered to contain and spread a disease in it's water system so the council closed the centre ahead of schedule for replacement with a new facility.
I'm not sure why I can't find much on this, been a long day so not sure I can find the energy to look much further tonight. I'll have a look in the week and write something up.
From what I can gather it was built around the 1920's but I'll have to confirm that. The buildings are likely to be demolished to make way for a new leisure centre to replace it. There is some local opposition but it isn't clear what the next step will be.

Was very tired and ill so pictures will be poor
Cheers
