Only a quick report this time..
A few from my last visit to Coalville. I spotted this whilst driving and thought it would be rude not to stop. Photos only taken on my phone so a bit pants...
What do I already know?
This is a large 3 storey stone and brick building that was built in the 60’s. Originally used for Co-op bakery and had 40 employees working there. It then sold to another business in the 90’s called Belvoir Bacon Ltd. They later moved to a new site and the bottom floors were used for cold storage. Unsure how long this place has been left abandoned but must be a good few years. Unfortunately this building has suffered from fire damage in recent years that has completely destroyed the top floors.
My explore
I explored here a few months back when lockdown was lifted for a short while. I came across here at the perfect time it seemed, as I encountered someone coming out and leaving an opening that was easily accessible. No climbing gates required lol. It always amazes me what is literally on my door step sometimes. The explore was a leisurely one, no trouble from locals or the business next door.
Not much left here but always worth a look.
Heres the quick photos I took..
