This Old Quarry is just down the Road from the active Endon Quarry. It is situated in Kerridge near Macclesfield, Cheshire. At the active one we quarry the Milnrow Sandstone laid down in the Carboniferous period. The colour is fawn with some grey. The Sandstone blocks break easily into flat slabs which make excellent walling stone and is also suitable for cutting by saw.
Sorry I cannot find much info on the old, abandoned quarry, but there's a lot to see and we spent a good hour or so there. Any questions please ask. (wasn't easy to get in)
