Visited with ConcreteJungle, this was a really photogenic drain.
After dunking my camera a day or so before while draining with Bolts, I was very kindly lent CJ's trusty 1000d. After a luxury drive down in the new drain-mobile, we proceeded into the drain, eventually passing the stoopy section that he had previously explored up to, and on into the darkness. We saw lots of fish, including a decent sized pike and also an eel, but no sight of any bats.
The culvert exits into an open section before heading underground once more, the foliage added a nice touch to the photography and age to the brickwork. The journey terminates where 2 smaller pipes flow down into a deep chamber, an overflow for the canal I believe. We spent a good few hours down here before heading off for the customary post-drain KFC.. Yet another awesome evening underground!
