Greetings all,
I had meant to post this long ago, then I totally forgot about this place and I since seem to have mislaid most of the photos I had. I've decided to pull some images off a mini dv tape which is why most of these are very poor quality. I don't know what the current state of this place is and would be interested to know as I believe there may have been development plans at the time but if it's still there I would like to revisit it.
I went a few times when I was studying in Salisbury. The first couple of times i somehow managed to miss half of the buiding, its like an old semi-detached house. There was a sort of attic room that had a discreet hole into the rest of the building and there was actually a much easier way in via a hatch in the grounds outside which led you from a small underground room, up some steps which had bars across the windows at ground level. someone from one of the nursing homes told me that there was a tunnel from here to the other buildings over the road. couldn't find it, perhaps it had been sealed up.
It seems one half of the building was more office based, the other half looked like it was used to treat patients. Found some electromyography equipment and a classic psychiatrists chair in surprisingly good nick.
The second time i visited i foolishly triggered an alarm on the way out. I legged it to wilton rd and continued at normal pace. when i finally returned a few weeks after there was a notice threatening legal action againt supposed squatters, with reference to the alarm incident. I am fairly sure no-one was threre at the time. however, there were a couple of junkies in one of the other smaller abandoned nhs buildings further up wilton rd. I was doing some photos in there when they walked in, luckily there was no trouble and one of them remembered that I had given him 50p in the street earlier on that day.
Apologies for the poor quality photos, hard to find frames that arent too subject orientated on the vid.
