This is my second time visiting this place and I took some pics. This is my first thread so it will be a bit bad but hopefully this will be a first of many posts in the future. The best source I could find for the info is Wikipedia which I know can be wrong but most of it seems accurate
Penscynor wildlife park was opened in 1971 after Penscynor House was bought in 1966 and was quite derelict at that time. The owner, Idris Hale from Neath was a builder who made the 11-acre property home to a large collection of exotic birds. After time this expanded to home mammals, other birds, fish, reptile and more. The park had an average of 200,000 visitors each year with 18 staff members.
Unfortunately the park was closed and since 1998 the park has been left abandoned. Most of it has been rebuilt on and houses are now in the place of most of the park. Luckily the chimp houses and penguin pool are still around but are derelict, and in poor condition.
The photos shown were taken by me while visiting. There are multiple ways to get into the park as the fence around it is also in a poor condition with holes in lost of places and fallen down at parts. I took the photos using a Canon EOS 550D with the kit lens.
