I am sorry in advance if this is pic heavy.
This was a great day out, me and a friend had wanted to do this for some time and we finally got around to doing it. This has always been a kinda personal one for me as I was born here, I also remember being admitted to the hospital when I broke my arm and when I needed an operation as a kid. After waiting 2 hours for the street to clear we hopped the fence (and landed in a very angry thorn bush) and proceeded inside. We explored for almost 5 hours and enjoyed lunch in the sunshine and warmth on the roof
Here is some history:
Peterborough District Hospital in the United Kingdom was the acute general district hospital serving the city of Peterborough and north Cambridgeshire, areas of east Northamptonshire and Rutland. Located on Thorpe Road and West Town, it was decommissioned in 2010, with services transferring to the new Peterborough City Hospital.
I took almost 300 pictures in total, but here are some of the best. (Sorry for any blurriness, a smartphone only goes so far and I don't make for a descent tripod).
Pictures:
This one has this weird aura, I think my finger was too close when the flash went off.
I don't know why there was so many shotgun shells lying around the place.
This is the childrens ward, where I was admitted
Some of the awesome roof shots
The security van
